Busy Body

I was playing with Ady and she was so cute and busy. I was really getting worn out. I turned to her and said, "You are such a cute little busy body." She replied back very indignant. "No Grandma, I not a busy body, I a busy bottom." Later as we were picking up toys, and I bent over to pick up a toy, she said, "Look Grandma has a busy bottom too." I started laughing, that was just the cutest thing. Later as I told her parents the story. I laughed so hard I almost stopped breathing. I haven't had that good of a laugh in a long time. Kids are so cute and keep you young.

Kylie playing soccer

This is a video of Kylie's first soccer game of the season. It was very windy but so fun to be there and watch these cute kids run after the ball. It brought back memories of our own kids playing.

September 2009

Cute picture of Kylie and Sadie. They were so fun to visit with. They are growing up too fast.
Another view of the Very Large Array. We were able to stand right below one of these radio telescopes.
Mike and I took another trip. We went to visit Tovi in Texas. On the way we stopped at the VLA in New Mexico. It was awesome. We really enjoyed the time spent there, also the horrendous rain storm while we were driving. Dad said there were fish swimming past us in the air!
Conrey with big sister Ady and Daddy. She was fascinated by him and had to check out his eyes, nose, mouth and the cute footprints on the blanket.
Conrey Bryson was born on September 8. He is beautiful. He looks so little in Grandpa's arms.

Start of our Vacation, please see all of the posts!

We were amazed at the beautiful windmills all over as we traveled through Wyoming.
Jane after setting up the tent. I really enjoys camping and traveling across the country. I love to drive and see things.
Michael with his cowboy hat. That first night was really hot and we were very sweaty and muggy in Nebraska.
Beautiful Nebraska Sunset. We had fun getting this shot.
Close up of a Windmill, this was right next to a parking only rest stop. It was amazing how huge these things are.

Vacation Illinois

The whole family eating pizza and enjoying Chuck E Cheese's in Illinois.
Eden and Grandma, they really bonded during this trip, it was lots of fun.

More Vacation

Typical picture of Jeremiah, inspecting closely anything that looks like the home of an animal, or insect. He could spend hours entertaining himself looking at bugs and holes in the ground.
Isaac at a rest stop on the way to New Jersey. He is happiest with a handful of sticks. He can't decide whether he likes fat ones, or long ones the best. He does love having lots of sticks.
Eden enjoying herself with all the cool rocks. She picks up one and then puts it aside for another, can't decide which one is best. She was entertained for a long time in this one spot.
Setting up our picnic area at Stoney Lake in New Jersey. It was so much fun to spend time with both Leah and Cami at the same time. The grandkids are always fun, no matter when or where.
Leah and Eden in the lake. We had a lot of fun this day just totally relaxing!

Vacation Stoney Lake, New Jersey

Picnic at the Lake. Isaac really enjoyed the corn cooked on the grill.
Jeremiah looks so cool in his swimming gear. He had a lot of fun with the new friends that he made at the lake. He loved swimming and diving in the water. This lake was so cool because it was quite warm and shallow. Good for little kids to play in.
Eden couldn't get enough of the water. She loved to splash and learned to control herself in the water really well.
Isaac loves to dig in the sand. What a nice colorful picture. He is so intent!
Cool chocolate ice cream treat after the day at the Lake. The boys enjoyed eating in the bathtub! Made for real easy clean up in the hotel.

Vacation Still

Cami and Isaac at the Crayola Factory, this was a fun interactive museum in Pennsylvania.
Eden writing on the drawing wall at the Crayola Factory.
Three happy girls in the van coming home from Pennsylvania
Jeremiah showing his balancing ability. He has sure grown and is so fun to watch.
Isaac making a very scary face!

Vacation going home

View of our Campground in Wisconsin.
Pipestone National Monument, this was a piece of the cliff face where the Indians for years have been chipping out the stone they shape and drill to make the bowl of peace pipes. A very interesting tour.
Waterfall at Pipestone National Monument.
I love cool flowers, these were taken at the Pipestone National Monument.
View of our Campground in South Dakota, this was a beautiful spot.

August Vacation

Devil's Tower, another favorite. This shot was from the parking lot of the KOA restaurant where we ate lunch. I got a great buffalo burger.
This is a cool tunnel system by Cody, Wyoming. It is fun to drive through and one that you definitely can't hold your breath while you are going through, like we used to do as kids, it is a great long tunnel.
Michael and I in front of Yellowstone Lake. Don't we look cool and rested!
Two mean old birds sitting on the top of a car and screaming at people as they walk by. I wonder what they are thinking.
Last stop before heading home was Yellowstone Park and Old Faithful. This brought back so many memories of the times I have been there before. I still love the place!

101 Ways to Praise a Child

We had an awesome lesson in RS last month, given by our RS President. She stressed how important it is to strengthen our families. She suggested that we should all be living by the standards listed in the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet. If you don't have one, get it, it is well worth the read!!!! She also handed out a paper with a list of ways to praise a child. Phrases we should be using more and more in our families. I had seen this before but it was a great reminder.

Ady's birthday

Ady turned 2 on June 21. She had a lot of fun opening presents. Here she is taking a present to Grandpa for him to hold while she tears the paper. She was very excited about every present.
Here she is unwrapping her new Tinkerbell Doll. She thought it was great.
Here she is eating her cake with her fork and scepter in one hand and wearing her crown from the top of her cake. She gets so excited about things. It is fun to watch.

Merrell Cole Henry Funeral

On June 20, 2009 the funeral for Uncle Merrell was held in Orem. He was 92 years old. It was a good funeral and good to hear the wonderful comments about him and the recap of his life. I have lots of fond memories of visits to Rigby in the summer and also visit to Orem during later years. I loved the produce from his garden. Here is a picture of the Henry Cousins taken after the luncheon. Some of the cousins had already left. In the center are Uncle Charles and Aunt Rose.

Picture of Uncle Merrell's children. David, Neal, Paul, Merleen and Helen.
Picture of my brother Ed on his birthday, with wife Joyce and daughter Lori. We had a good visit and lots of hugs.

Going home

On the way home we stopped in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Monte Carlo Restaurant. It was one that Jon wanted to eat at. He had seen its review on Diners and Dives or some such thing. The food was good. It had a greek flavor to it. We then drove on home. We were going to stay in a hotel but by the time we got there they were all full and then when we got on to other places with hotels Ady was already asleep, so we just kept driving all night. We had beautiful weather in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas but as soon as we hit Utah it started to rain.
