April

In April I had a lot more colors added to my hair.  I had them add pink, purple, blue, yellow and orange.  What a fun spring/Easter bonnet that made.  In church on Easter Sunday Mike and I had the opportunity to speak during Sacrament Meeting.  The choir also sang "There is a Green Hill", it was fun to accompany them.  They do such a good job.

My talk was on the Atonement:  Its redeeming and enabling power.
I started with an experience when we were first married, we had a car that's battery would not hold a charge and we usually parked on a hill and then gave it a push and popped the clutch to make it start.  One night after attending the temple we couldn't get the car started.  Mike pushed and pushed and it did not start, then he asked "Is the key turned on?"  Of course it wasn't and once it was turned on we could push the car and it started.  The Atonement is like that with the resurrection we are given a car but with the atonement or exaltation the key needs to be turned on.  The miracle of the atonement is not just that we can go home but that we can feel at home there.  Pres. McKay said "The purpose of the Gospel is to make bad men good and good men better.  To change human nature."

March Activities

In March a lot of fun things happened.
1.  I had Green added to my hair for St. Patrick's Day
2.  I bought a new Car.  A Toyota Prius C.  I really love it and it gets great gas mileage, about 53 mpg around town.
3.  I finished the quilt for the Stake Relief Society Project.
4.  I finished an Afghan for Suz, one of the nurses at work who is having a baby girl.

Cami's Visit!!!!!!!

Cami flew out to visit from New Jersey while Holly, Ady and Will were here.  It was so nice to see her and we had a great visit.  We love her laughter and how she makes everyone smile.  She had fun playing with Ady and Will.  One day they pulled out all of the old dress up clothes/costumes and that was great fun.

Then they used a blanket and made a tent or hideout.  I'm not sure who ended up having the most fun during these activities.  They also spent time coloring, playing with play dough, reading and of course eating.  Dad and I took Cami to dinner at Sizzler, that is probably Dad's all time favorite place to go for eating out.  He does like Indian Oven and Chuckarama too.

It has been a great experience in the Cache 1st Branch at Williamsburg Retirement Center.  It is so fun to visit the members there.  They are usually so cheerful and great us with smiles and lots of hugs.  It is a good opportunity for me to learn more about leadership and the Relief Society.  I also get the chance to practice the piano more as I play for the Branch Choir.  That was initially a real challenge as I had not played as an accompanist for a long time.  It is getting better all the time, mostly because I am playing a lot more.  That is sure a lot of fun.
On March 17 we had a Relief Society Birthday party.  We had a service auction, started the quilt squares for a quilt we need to make for the Stake Relief Society and then we had cupcakes.  We had about 20 sisters attend.

In January we had the joy of Ady, Will and Holly visiting us.  It is always great to be able to spend time with family.  We had fun with play dough, always a favorite.  Lunch time is always fun.
